My trip to Thailand gave me a lot of new chef friends and a refreshing way to look at cooking with vegtables and use of strange produce? Here is a classic easy one for you to make enjoy!

thai grilled beef salad

ingredients

  • 8 ounces filet mignon or boneless sirloin steak

4 cups mixed salad greens

1/2 cup packed torn basil leaves and coriander

3 green onions, thinly sliced

1 small cucumber, unpeeled, thinly sliced

1 mango, peeled, cut into match sticks

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 tablespoon canola oil

1 tablespoon Nam Pla fish sauce

1 teaspoon brown sugar

directions

1.

Grill or broil steak 4 inches from heat source about 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Set aside to cool.

2.

In large bowl, combine greens, basil ,coriander, green onions, cucumber and mango.

3.

In small bowl, mix lime juice, oil, fish sauce and sugar

. Add hot red pepper sauce to taste (if desired). Reserve 1 tablespoon dressing; toss remainder over greens mixture. Place greens on a platter.

4.

Thinly slice beef, reserving juices. Arrange slices over greens. Whisk beef juices into reserved dressing and drizzle over beef.
